Dr. Mohd Hafeez Osman (P.Tech) is a Senior Lecturer at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and serves as the Deputy Director of Infostructure and ICT Innovation at UPM's Infocomm Development Centre (IDEC). He brings over 20 years of combined academic and industry experience across more than eight public and private organizations, including the Prime Minister's Department of Malaysia (MAMPU), Leiden University (Netherlands), and Technical University of Munich (Germany). Dr. Hafeez holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Leiden University. His expertise and research focus on the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to software quality, software testing, requirements engineering, and Internet of Things (IoT) solutions.

Workshop Summary

Facilitator Bio

Ir. Dr. Ahmad Nizar Bin Harun is currently the Chief Executive Officer of MIMOS Academy Sdn Bhd and former Deputy CEO and COO of The ECEOS Sdn Bhd. He is the author and co-author of more than 26 publications in international conferences, journals, and proceedings in Wireless Communication, IoT, Cloud, AI, and Precision Farming. He was the Project Director for the TNB Nuclear Program, working with nuclear scientists and an international team from the US, UK, Austria, Denmark, and Bulgaria, and represents Malaysia in nuclear technical discussions at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He has been appointed as an AI trainer by institutions including Tenaga Nasional Berhad, the Faculty of AI at UTM, and the Faculty of AI at UPM, with his expertise also extending to the Faculty of Institute Informatics at UKM. He is an Adjunct Professor at UTM-MJIT and holds a PhD in Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Systems from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2017). He holds 15 patents and has published over 27 research papers, with an h-index of 16 on Semantic Scholar and over 951 citations worldwide.

Workshop Summary

The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping educational ecosystems globally. Higher education institutions are increasingly expected to integrate AI-driven tools into teaching, assessment, curriculum design, and student engagement strategies.

However, many educators require structured guidance to leverage AI responsibly, pedagogically, and ethically.

This 2.5-hour professional development workshop equips lecturers, trainers, and academic leaders with practical competencies to integrate AI into teaching and learning environments. The program combines conceptual foundations, applied demonstrations, hands-on activities, and strategic reflection to ensure participants move beyond basic tool usage toward pedagogically aligned AI adoption.

The workshop aligns with institutional priorities on digital transformation, academic integrity, and innovative pedagogy.
